Overview:
Engine Power Components manufactures the heart of the internal combustion engine—camshafts—for a worldwide customer base. We are seeking a shift supervisor to join our production team. Purpose:
- The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the automotive manufacturing facility. This role ensures that safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives are met while leading, developing, and motivating a team of production employees. The Supervisor will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure adherence to company policies, and support operational excellence across all shifts.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise production team members, including training, development, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary action, and policy enforcement.
- Plan and coordinate daily shift operations, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Monitor production performance, track key metrics (output, scrap, downtime, OEE, on-time delivery), and present results to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Partner with maintenance, quality, and engineering to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Serve as a visible, hands-on leader on the production floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles,
- Specific knowledge of camshaft manufacturing processes and department workflows
- Specific and demonstrated knowledge of common motivational and associate development techniques.
- Specific knowledge of and ability to perform public speaking tasks.
- Verbal and written English communication skills to internal contact standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing reporting systems (ERP/MES).
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successful completion of post-offer drug and alcohol test and criminal background check.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
