Account Executive, Corporate Partnerships

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Account Executive, Corporate Partnerships is charged with working closely with internal colleagues across all program areas, and on partner activations for the Sundance Film Festival. In addition to several critical endemic partners who are Festival Sponsors, Institute Associates, or Industry Alliance members, this position manages our nonprofit, industry guilds, schools, universities and as well as new or self-generated accounts in other key categories such as beauty, food and beverage, and technology.

Working closely under the direction of the Associate Director, Corporate Partnerships, the Account Executive supports Sundance Institute�s commitment to support and advance the work of independent artists in film through a wide array of programs.

This full-time position is based within the greater Boulder, CO area in order to work onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout the year. While much of the day-to-day work may be performed remotely, this position will need to work onsite in a hybrid capacity at key points and attend in-person meetings with partners. This role works extended hours, including evenings and weekends at key points and will require travel to Institute offices and events on occasion.

Top priorities include but are not limited to�

  • Managing a portfolio of approximately $2M annually for the Corporate Partnerships team.

  • Supporting the department�s total annual revenue goal by managing accounts, and generating new business, including ownership of a sales pipeline for the annual Sundance Film Festival, third-party partnerships, and year-round programs.

  • Overseeing a portfolio of approximately 25-30+ corporate partners, including managing renewal and contract negotiations in partnership with Sundance legal team, and managing activations tied to Institute and Festival programs.

  • Developing materials such as proposals and pitch decks.

  • Working closely with the seasonal Festival team on corporate partnership activations, including assisting with training and overseeing account activation.

  • Leading and furthering the nonprofit strategy for the Institute including nonprofit partnerships, schools/universities, and others.

  • Collaborating with internal departments and Artist Program Groups, such as the Documentary Film Program and Feature Film Program to identify new partnerships and fundraising opportunities that align with each program�s mission and goals.

  • Managing key �alliance� areas for the Institute by partnering with program leads to identify our needs and how best to integrate partners such as the Accessibility Alliance and Industry Alliance.

  • Managing select assigned department projects.

  • Supporting database management to ensure department records are up-to-date and all partners are accurately tracked.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • 3 years of experience in pitching and managing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and/or sales.

  • Demonstrated experience meeting sales goals.

  • Strong leadership skills to support fellow employees and lead by example.

  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects and stay focused under pressure.

  • Ability to manage complex relationships and maintain confidential information.

  • Project management experience preferred.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

You will be successful in this role if you...

  • Support the team in meeting or exceeding the annual shared goal of approximately $13M.

  • Create a continuous pipeline of new prospects and a renewal rate of 40%+.

  • Identify monetization and general partnership opportunities for �alliance� programs (existing and new).

  • Create improved processes and systems to further optimize the sales process and cycle.

*Final rate of pay is determined based on the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience and skills, and internal equity among similar positions within our organization.
