This position directs plant quality processes and systems to ensure and maintain Cabinetworks Group’s world class product line standards and customer expectations. To this end the use of quality metrics to define, measure, analyze and implement processes to constantly monitor and improve quality will be required using Cabinetworks Operating System (COS) concepts and techniques for problem solving and continuous improvement implementation opportunities
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and sustain the quality management system and strategy including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organizations annual business plan and long term strategy.
- Maintain systems to specification and standards (customer and 3rd party) relating to activities and products.
- Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
- Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate according to performance levels.
- Monitor and apply standards created by external bodies, and integrate within internal quality management systems.
- Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
- Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budget and timescale.
- Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
- Liaise and co-operate with quality management and standards bodies (e.g. Government Departments, HSE, etc).
- Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc).
- Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues).
- Act as a mentor for Six Sigma projects.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the Plant Manager
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor degree in engineering, quality management, business, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in engineering, quality, new product development, manufacturing or regulatory
- Demonstrated problem solving and root cause analysis skills (Why 5, Fishbone, etc..)
- The ability to compute statistical data and communicate complex statistical information to those with little background or understanding of statistics.
- Subject matter expertise in Process Flow Mapping, Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Control Plan
- Metrology (Gauges)
- An understanding or experience with auditing (System, Process, Procedure).
- Product Auditing –Sample Auditing AQL.
- Product knowledge.
- Understanding of quality data tools (pareto charts, histograms, flow charts, etc.)
- Experience with APQP/QFD
- Computer literacy including strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Six Sigma Green Belt.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 4 years in the Quality Field.
- Align quality to customer and business value proposition
- ASQ Certification: CQE, CQM, CQA, CQT, CRE.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO-9001, ISO-14001, QS9000)
- Experience with ANSI A161.1
- ISO-9000 Lead Auditor Certificate.
- Other Quality related certificates.
- Six Sigma Black Belt
Salary Range for the position: $140k - $180k
