Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage standard cost data within the ERP system, including raw materials, ingredients, packaging, labor, and overhead
  • Ensure the accuracy of product costing through validation of BOMs, routings, and labor assumptions
  • Analyze weekly and monthly variances from standard cost and provide detailed reporting with root cause analysis

  • Partner with operations to identify cost savings through waste reduction, yield improvement, labor efficiency, and other continuous improvement opportunities
  • Lead and manage the vendor claims process—documenting issues, coordinating with procurement and quality control, tracking claim status, and ensuring accurate financial treatment
  • Support new product costing, customer pricing, and marketing initiatives through detailed cost analysis
  • Assist in ERP system transitions, including data migration, testing, and go-live support
  • Monitor inventory control processes, support physical inventories, and ensure accurate accounting of obsolete or damaged goods
  • Contribute to weekly performance reporting, budget preparation, and capital spending analysis
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and drive accountability around key KPIs such as yield, downtime, and labor efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (food or CPG preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of standard cost systems, variance analysis, and cost modeling
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Deacom, etc.)
  • Proficient in Excel with strong analytical and data visualization skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work across departments
  • Comfortable spending regular time on the production floor as part of core responsibilities
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, process improvement, and root cause analysis

Preferred Attributes:

  • Ability to balance accounting precision with real-world operations insight
