The City of Katy is looking for a part-time Activities Coordinator for our Fussell Senior Center.
SUMMARY: Assists in the coordination of, schedules, set up, and oversees activities, games, events, and trips of the Fussell Senior Center. Manages the Center's kitchen and participates in snack preparation and serving as needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assist in setting up and breaks down Senior Center for daily activities; verifies that all supplies needed for the activities are set up and arranged; oversees the progress of senior activities; participates in cleaning up and locking building at the end of the day.
- Assist in preparation of monthly activities calendar and sign-up sheets; collects activity fees; requisitions supplies including but not limited to ceramic glazes, paper goods, and food and kitchen supplies.
- Attend off-site programs, trips, and activities, as assigned
- Assist in coordinating a minimum of two large events for summer and end of the year; hangs decorations, arranges food, and schedules live entertainment and activities.
- Assist in the preparation and serving of snacks; manages the kitchen area; inventory food and supplies; assists in cleaning and maintaining kitchen and serving areas.
- Assists in preparation and types various correspondences and reports on activities.
- For purposes of business continuity, employees in this position are considered Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers, as defined by the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
- Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND one (1) year of experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of:
- Department policies and procedures.
- Senior citizen services and programs.
- Community services and resources.
Skill in:
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Operating a personal computer, standard software, and general office equipment.
- Communicating clearly, both orally and in writing.
- Organizing and maintaining files and data.
- Interacting with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds and socio-economic status.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid State Driver's License may be required.
- American Red Cross CPR certification.
- Harris County Health Department Food Handler certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a standard office environment.
