We are looking for a Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist who is passionate and innovative to join us in our In Vivo Pharmacology group based in Slough, UK.

 

About the role

Reporting within the in vivo pharmacology group, the appointed candidate will focus on leading the In Vivo strategy and generating key data to identify and characterise therapeutic molecules within UCB’s immunology drug discovery portfolio.

This is a lab-based position and as such requires the candidate to hold a current UK Home Office licence.

 

Who you’ll work with

Reporting to the Director In-Vivo Pharmacology.

 

What you’ll do

  • Establish, validate and run in vivo immune mechanistic/disease models according to scientific, departmental and research project requirements.
  • Generate robust in vivo data to support the development of therapeutic molecules.
  • Run ex vivo assays to support in vivo studies and progress research projects.
  • Interpret and communicate data within the in vivo pharmacology team and at project meetings.
  • Input and potentially lead in vivo strategy of a project.
  • Work collaboratively within the in vivo pharmacology team and across departments to progress research projects towards the clinic.

 

Interested?  For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • PhD (or equivalent) in Pharmacology or Immunology.
  • Technical experience in immunology based in vivo mechanistic and disease models as well as a UK Home Office personal licence is required.
  • Experience in a range of additional techniques such as flow cytometry, imaging methods, multiplexed assay readouts and ex vivo cell culture would be advantageous.
  • The candidate should also have a proven track record in research gained through academic research projects and/or industry, with the ability to analyse, interpret and clearly communicate their data within multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Experience with relevant software tools and statistics is an advantage.
