Location: London

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Pattern: Full Time and Hybrid (2 days in London, including every Tuesday) On occasion, you may need to travel to overseas offices to undertake assurance work.

Internal Audit Manager:

As a member of the Internal Audit (IA) manager group, reporting to the Head of Internal Audit (HIA), you will manage a portfolio of assurance and advisory engagements across all our client entities.
You will oversee and deliver audits which will include covering insurance risk – including underwriting, claims, and reinsurance. You will collaborate closely with the other audit managers and technology champions to ensure integrated coverage of business, IT, and data risks.
The types of assurance services you will manage will vary, and can include normal audits, specific assurance procedures, project real-time-assurance, investigations, and consultancy. You may also have management responsibilities regarding the JSOX and ISAE 3000 assurance programmes.

About MSIGCS:

MSIGCS is part of a global top-10 insurance group, MS&AD. We comprise four distinct businesses covering global reinsurance, Lloyd’s franchise, local specialty insurer, and business services.
MSIGCS provide internal audit services to different group companies, including MS Amlin, MS Re, MS AISE, MS AIML, MS ABS (ACS), MSIEU, MS AHL, and MSIGCS itself.
The team comprises circa 13-15 members at any given time. The CIA is supported by an Executive Assistant and three Heads of Internal Audit. There is a shared resource pool comprising Audit Managers, Principal Auditors and off-shore outsourced auditors.
When necessary, we appoint 3rd party subject matter experts to support our team on assurance engagements.
We support hybrid and flexible working to balance team connection with individual needs. Team members are typically in the office 2–3 days a week. Tuesday is our anchor day for in-person collaboration, while other office days are flexible based on team and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your main responsibility will be to support the Internal Audit (IA) leadership team in managing and overseeing the delivery of high-quality, risk-based audit services.
  • You will play a key role in maintaining our positive, high-performance culture, and helping to ensure the ‘well-being’ of all our team members. This is a collective responsibility. This means that, from time to time, you will be helping other team members who may be struggling, and vice versa. You will be a champion in these areas.
  • You must build and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships, both within the IA team and the business, including at Executive and senior management level.
  • You must proactively contribute to, and drive our innovation agenda, both in terms of how we do things, and the services we provide to our customers.
  • You must proactively drive your learning journey, both technical and soft skills, with the full support of the IA leadership team.
  • You may have direct line management responsibility for members of the team, and must support their career development, and coach them.
  • This is a senior role within the team. Therefore, you must take key decisions, contribute to the wider team’s development, motivate them, manage audit scheduling, and prepare high-quality engagement reporting.
  • Because this is a senior role, from time to time you will need to have difficult conversations with business stakeholders where our assurance work identified significant issues. In this regard, the IA leadership will support you.
For this role there are some important key competencies we need you to have. These include:

  • Deep knowledge in insurance and financial risk – we have a strong preference for experience in Lloyd’s/London Market or Reinsurance underwriting.
  • Professional qualification in Internal Audit, Assurance, or Insurance (e.g., CIA, CA, CII)l
  • Strong grasp of modern assurance techniques and data-driven methodologies.
  • AI or process mining experience would be desirable.
  • Managing multiple engagements simultaneously, and to effectively manage teams.

We are stronger together because of our common interests and rich differences. You may be the strength we didn’t know we needed. Believe in yourself, and click apply today!
