It provides clinical services to all acute care facilities in Edmonton, and consultative services to Northern Alberta as well as western NWT and parts of BC. There are established specialty programs in HIV/AIDS, Transplant Infectious Diseases, Viral Hepatitis, Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT), Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship as well as close relationship with Provincial microbiology laboratories, and Public Health officials. The Division boasts one of the longest running and most highly regarded Canadian postgraduate clinical training programs in Infectious Diseases. The successful applicant will also participate in equitable city-wide after hours call coverage. The successful candidate will be an MD with certification in Infectious Diseases with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
