About the Role

MSS Security is seeking a confident and capable Casual Security Officer to join our Defence operations at a secured base in Brisbane. This critical role involves protecting Defence personnel, assets, and infrastructure through proactive patrols, access control, and a strong on-site presence.

Key Duties

• Access Control – Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorised personnel are permitted on site

• Foot Patrols – Conduct regular patrols to maintain situational awareness and deter potential threats

• Stakeholder Liaison – Build rapport with Defence personnel, contractors, and visitors while maintaining a strong security presence

• Incident Response – React promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious behaviour

• Compliance Monitoring – Ensure site protocols and Defence security procedures are followed at all times

• Reporting & Documentation – Accurately record incidents, shift activities, and observations in line with site requirements

What you will need to be considered for the role -

• Australian Citizenship – required for Defence security clearance eligibility

• Current QLD Security Licence

• Negative Vetting 1 Defence Clearance or willingness to obtain one

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with Defence personnel and stakeholders

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions

• Strong integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
