Your Position
As a general hand your day-to-day will include supporting operations through system monitoring, housekeeping, defect reporting, and assisting the maintenance team. Clear communication with colleagues and a commitment to safety will ensure everything runs efficiently and professionally.
This is a shift-based position on a 12-hour rotating roster (4 days on, 4 days off), including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You’ll be working in a temperature-controlled environment and collaborating with a dynamic team in a fast-paced, high-tech facility.
As part of a highly motivated service team, your day-to-day focus will include:
Monitor Vanderlande equipment and SCADA alarms, respond to operational callouts, assist with system resets, and escalate faults as needed.
Assist with troubleshooting crane issues, liaise with maintenance teams, and report equipment defects, repetitive faults, and recurring issues promptly.
Support technicians and engineers with inspections, servicing, minor maintenance, and tool/equipment delivery during breakdowns.
Maintain workshop areas, manage tooling, carry out housekeeping tasks, and perform manual handling duties safely (including working at heights).
Perform low-risk maintenance such as pneumatic leak repairs, filter/drive roller/sensor replacements, and ensure issues are resolved effectively with the team and customer.
Maintain a clean, obstacle-free workspace, take care of company tools/equipment, and report any damage, loss, or misuse promptly.
About you:
Strong organisational skills with exposure to process improvement initiatives
Proficient computer skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
Comfortable working in cold environments (0°C) with PPE provided
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts on a 4-on / 4-off roster
