Job Title:              Quality Engineering Section Manager

Department:         Quality

Reports To:          Quality Engineering Department Manager

 

SUMMARY

 

Develop and implement quality section policies, procedures, and systems. Plan, coordinate, direct and assign quality activities to achieve yearly and future section key measurable items. Educate and train subordinate members in policy, procedures, reporting, objectives, and control. Evaluate and develop subordinate members. Establish, coordinate, implement and maintain the quality system in a manner consistent with overall product and service quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Develop and oversee company policies, procedures, and systems to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure customers are satisfied by arranging frequent communication, ensuring countermeasure responses are accurate and on time, and deadlines regarding change or new models are met.
  • Ensure all customer specific required documents are complete and timelines and targets are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain yearly job plans for section products and engineering staff.
  • Assist in the development of and compliance to departmental goals and targets.
  • Oversee activities and maintain conformance to ADI IATF Quality System requirements.
  • Responsible for in-house process support and customer support.
  • Direct the training and education system for members to improve work performance and career development.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional team members to meet customer quality objectives.
  • Communicate with Japan mother plant and local APS members to ensure reports are complete and support is appropriate.
  • Assist with budget preparation and control of expenses and capital investment.
  • Conduct section staff member performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate data analysis & connectivity tools through IoT initiatives to increase quality metrics.

 

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 compliant quality systems.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, both verbal and written.
  • Data Analysis, IoT, Microsoft Office Suite, SQL preferred.
  • Automotive customer interface experience.
  • Meet customer specific targets on time.
  • Ability to give formal presentations.
  • Ability to read product drawings and technical documents; Statistical Analysis and Process Control Sheets.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel (Domestic & International).

 

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or 10 plus years of experience is required.
