MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all scheduled production services in support of client satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Lead, supervise, direct, and assist our team of production technical specialist and local labor in the completion of daily work assignments as required by the event schedule and/or administrative needs.
• Advise production personnel in the use of current technology to ensure optimal and efficient operations.
• Oversee external contractors to ensure the quality of work performed is in accordance with established industry safety standards and guidelines, as well as all MCCNO policies and procedures.
• Update, maintain, and complete all required orders, maintenance records and forms in a timely manner.
• Deliver, install, operate, and retrieve all rigging gear and other Production equipment.
• Assist in the coordination and interfacing of outside vendor equipment.
• Professionally interface with clients and in-house personnel regarding AutoCad diagrams and technical requirements; respond to inquiries/requests as needed.
• Act as a supportive liaison to other departments, vendors and clients.
Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose and repair Production rigging equipment in order to minimize down time and improve responsiveness.
• Evaluate all rigging equipment for repair and maintenance; log and maintain safety records.
Oversee, secure and issue production equipment to MCCNO personnel and clients to allow for efficient work processes and successful events.
• Account for and ensure that equipment is returned undamaged to help maintain costs and aid in the comprehensive equipment management of the department.
• Perform routine walk- throughs of exhibit halls, meeting rooms, and conference areas to ensure the proper security of equipment.
• Lead and assist in the performance of inventory counts of departmental equipment.
Assist in the training and development of full-time, part-time, and contract personnel to accurately and efficiently perform departmental job duties building a shared knowledge base.
• Stay abreast of current rigging techniques and training; make recommendations for the acquisition of new equipment and training.
Ensure that all required orders, records and forms are updated, maintained, and completed accurately and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and AutoCAD.
Other Skills and Abilities
Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, perform under minimal supervision and work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays.
Individual must be able to regularly work at heights and use lifts.
Ability to complete job duties with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, interpret, and transfer CAD diagrams into working truss rig.
Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues with chain hoists, rigging equipment, point loads, and other rigging related matters.
Ability to inspect, use, and maintain all requisite safety equipment for self and direct the proper use by staff they are leading.
Other Qualifications
Working knowledge of application, function, and repair of chain hoists, hoist control, hoist power distribution and other related equipment.
Working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques, including load calculations and load distribution.
Intermediate level set up and operation of small to large-scale rigging plans in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
