The role:

Lead the quarterly rate reviews with preparation of any necessary rate filings to be submitted to state insurance departments.

Conduct competitive research of competitor rate filing activity to ensure our products are priced responsibly, yet competitively in the market.

Review and modify Underwriting Rule and Policy Form as deemed necessary, including filing with state insurance departments.

Assist marketing by identifying profitable business segments which may present opportunities for growth.

Identify trends in frequency and severity in partnership with the Claims team.  

Manage new/renewal PIF mix so to ensure stable loss ratios.

Weekly and Monthly reports to executive management to keep them informed on loss ratios, production and any concerns identified by the product management team.

Partner with Sr. VP and IT Department to develop system that will include automated tools for loss ratio management.

Be in the details, understand how to improve segmentation, select optimal pricing factors, apply underwriting guidelines, monitor mix, and manage the health of the renewal book

What it takes:

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, a related field or equivalent education

Ten or more years of auto product management experience preferred

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team to achieve business results

Achieves a standard of excellence with work processes and outcomes, honoring company policies and regulatory compliance.

Ability to deal effectively with individuals at all levels and attain desired results.

Works well under tight deadlines

Effective communication, presentation, negotiation and persuasion skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience working directly with CA or TX

Moderate ability in SQL or desire to learn

Experience using Microsoft PowerBI a plus
