JOB DESCRIPTION
The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring on-site safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed, and adherence to project plans and specifications as well as budget.
Salary/Wage: $70,000 to $85,000 DOE (depending on experience)
Location/Work Site: Cedar City, UT – Onsite during all work hours.

Essential Functions

- Oversee and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, and quality control.
- Oversee work among assigned trades to promote coordinated project operations. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment schedule, and all other appropriate matters.
- Manage the overall site safety program as required and ensure subcontractor compliance with SCS standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
- Create three-week look ahead schedule, schedule updates and determine the sequencing of work. Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule if needed.
- Communicate with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigate and resolve such issues.
- Manage the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with the project plans and specifications.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Competencies
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain access to the facility.
- Must have knowledge of “ground-up vertical construction”.
- Understanding of construction means/methods.
- Proficient computer skills and the ability to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, and Excel.
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in clear and precise English.
- The ability to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Results driven and professional.
- Effective problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making skills.

Requirements
Supervisory Responsibility
To be determined by Project Manager.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional construction environment. This role routinely is exposed to construction equipment, operations, materials, and personnel both indoor and outdoor in all types of weather. This position will also routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
The location of the position will be on site at the designated facility in Cedar City, UT.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, climb, and be able to safely maneuver or traverse across worksite grounds and areas under construction.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with the hours of work and days to be determined based upon the needs and scope of the project. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is expected to be at a minimum for this position.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and 5+ years of job-related experience, OR
- Minimum of 5-7 years of job-related experience (references required).
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- OSHA Certification, 40-hour or 30-hour (preferred).
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be authorized to legally work within the United States of America.
