Cyber Security Operations Manager
Leadership position within the Cyber Security team

About the role
As V/Line’s Cyber Security Operations Manager, you will lead our cyber security operations strategic activities. You will lead the development of the enterprise cyber security operations as it transitions to a modern cyber security operations model.
With expertise in industrial control systems, process automation, and cloud technologies, you will optimise our cyber security infrastructure. Additionally, you will contribute to risk management discussions, policy review, incident response training, and support other teams in achieving better security outcomes.
You will oversee a team, manage external relationships, and deliver security services to protect V/Line’s interests. As a leader, this role influences others to achieve outcomes aligned with V/Line's strategies and goals, driving change to improve operational policies and practices.
Expect a high level of collaboration with senior stakeholders to align cyber security initiatives with organisational goals, ensuring the ongoing health of V/Line’s cyber security systems. This an opportunity to pave the way and shape V/Line’s Cyber Security Operations for years to come.
About you
Having well developed communication skills, you will be able to provide balanced advice to key technical and non-technical stakeholders and project resources which align with international information security standards and reduces the risk of control weaknesses being introduced by projects.
Successful candidate will also possess:
6+ years’ experience successfully working in hands-on, security operations positions.
Minimum 1 year experience successfully managing a cyber security team.
Must have tertiary qualifications in computer science, cyber security, computer/electronic engineering, or related field.
Hold a Cyber Security certification (CEH or SECURITY+ preferred) or equivalent.
Track record implementing and managing Security Automation and Orchestration (SOAR) and event management or correlation tools (SIEM).
Experience in rail operator or transport sectors is highly desirable.
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned experience and skillset to this position.

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 / Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023).
