Unilever is one of the world’s leading suppliers of Beauty, Personal and Home Care products with sales in over 190 countries and reaching 2 billion consumers a day. Unilever has more than 400 brands found in homes around the world, including Dove, Sunsilk, Treseme, Persil, Comfort, Surf and Lynx. We want to move towards a connected world where everyone can live well and within the natural limits of the planet.

As one of the world’s largest users of Fragrances, we recognise that creating exceptional fragrances is at the heart of delivering extraordinary consumer experiences and driving desire at scale. Superior fragrances play a critical role in the delivery of unmissable superiority for Unilever. Shape the Future of Fragrance Through Data & Analytics
We are seeking a digitally fluent and insight-driven Data & Analytics Manager to lead the design, implementation, and governance of data systems and analytics capabilities across the Unilever Fragrance House. This role is pivotal in enabling data-driven innovation, ensuring seamless data capture, and transforming raw data into actionable insights through advanced reporting and dashboarding.
You will play a central role in helping Unilever innovate faster and smarter by ensuring that all fragrance-related data—from lab experiments to consumer insights—is well-organised, automatically captured, and visualised in ways that accelerate decision-making. By building strong data systems and promoting a culture of data literacy and analytics, this role improves efficiency, reduces errors, and prepares the business to fully leverage AI, advanced analytics, and future digital tools.

Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Strategy
• Design and maintain scalable, secure, and future-ready data architecture to support fragrance innovation and digital product development.
• Define data standards, taxonomies, and governance frameworks aligned with enterprise-wide digital strategies.
Data Capture & Systems Integration
• Lead the development and optimisation of data capture systems across sensory, formulation, and consumer testing platforms.
• Champion the automation of data capture from laboratory instruments and digital lab notebooks to improve data accuracy, traceability, and speed of insight generation.
• Ensure interoperability between internal systems (e.g., formulation databases, sensory panels, consumer feedback tools) and external data sources.

Analytics & Insight Generation
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to support UFH in fragrance-related decision-making.
• Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform product development, consumer testing, and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define key metrics and visualisation needs, ensuring analytics tools are intuitive and impactful.
• Support the deployment of predictive analytics and modelling tools to enhance fragrance design and consumer understanding.
Data Management & Stewardship
• Oversee data quality, integrity, and lifecycle management across fragrance-related datasets.
• Implement best practices for metadata management, data lineage, and access control.
• Drive adoption of data tools and platforms across teams by promoting user-centric design, training, and support.
• Foster a strong data culture by advocating for data literacy, transparency, and responsible data use across the Fragrance House.
Team Leadership
• Manage and mentor a small team of data specialists or analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with internal IT, digital, and data science teams to align on infrastructure and tooling.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as a key interface between Fragrance R&D, CTI, Marketing, and Digital teams to translate business needs into data and analytics solutions.
• Support digital transformation initiatives by enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML applications, and generative design tools.
• Build strong data partnerships internally with business groups and externally with technology providers, research institutions, and data vendors to expand data capabilities and accelerate innovation.

Key Requirements
• Proven experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data analytics roles, ideally within FMCG, fragrance, or consumer product industries.
• Strong proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) and experience building dashboards and reports for diverse stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), ETL pipelines, and data governance tools.
• Experience with automated data capture from laboratory environments (e.g., LIMS, ELNs, IoT-enabled lab equipment) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with sensory science, formulation data, or consumer testing data is a plus.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading small teams and working in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
