Hanover Sport is recruiting for a Senior Account Manager who will work across our biggest sport brand accounts – NFL, Wimbledon, Women’s Super League Football - and be a key part of a fast-paced growing team.

However, the business of sport is complex, that’s why our team combines experts in the fields of strategic communications, brand storytelling, sponsorship activation, international affairs and media and political engagement so that we can help organisations use the platform of sport to achieve their goals. 

Purpose

To be a key member of the team with responsibility for day to day execution of client campaigns, lead on client comms and oversee media operations for global events.

The role will report into Director of Sport where the candidate will support with nurturing the development of the team members and growing the roster of clients.

As part of a young and dynamic team, you will be expected to be bring ideas, energy, proactivity and curiosity to the day to day running of the agency and client work.

Client responsibilities – 60% of your time 

  • Overseeing day-to-day execution of client campaigns including strategy development, media relations, storytelling and events.
    The role will include working across the diverse range of brands delivering game changing work for:
    • Wimbledon– Proactive storytelling lead (off the court storytelling!) – this includes proposal-through-to-project delivery. You will be a key player in an integrated account that delivers strategic communications for Wimbledon.
    • WSL Football– Day-to-day lead with a focus on brand storytelling and strong experience negotiating and delivering high impact coverage across cultural, lifestyle, youth and sports media.
    • NFL– Day-to-day lead on account. This includes initiative storytelling, championing key moments in the season such as the London Games and Super Bowl, and supporting on the international media operation for the London Games.
  • Take a key role in the development of organic account opportunities including the creation of clear strategies, killer creative ideas and brand storytelling strategies
  • Proactive media relations is essential to the success of our team and client work. Therefore, you need to lead by example and drive media relations across a broad media mix
  • Actively collaborate with cross agency/network teams to showcase the Hanover Sport

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of the media & social media landscape to guide clients in their PR approach
  • Strong understanding and demonstrable experience of the sport marcomms landscape and awareness of the sports (NB- in depth knowledge of NFL, WSL and Wimbledon are a nice-to-have but not essential)
  • Experience running global media operations for high profile events and player / team / brand media days
  • Ability to build comprehensive media strategies across youth, lifestyle, sport and news media
  • Confident providing consultancy on industry topics, media and audience insights
  • Excellent writing skills across various content formats e.g press release, proposal, social media etc
  • Confident in creating and managing budgets for clients and supplier
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail


Agency responsibilities: 20% of your time

  • Participate in training and cross network creative ideation sessions
  • To actively collaborate with wider Hanover teams/cross agency
  • Taking a leading and hands on role in the development of our young and talented team. Open door policy and supportive attitude.
