Salary: Starting at $90k a year. After 12 months, Base + Commission
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm

Territory: Santa Rosa, San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto
The Outside Sales Person for Cascade executes all aspects of our sales call process and strategies. They will facilitate and coordinate business activities of accounts and executing company sales initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating profitable relationships with Cascade accounts along with establishing and prospecting new accounts.
This person directly reports to the General Manager. They will interact daily with customers and office staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years sales experience preferred
- Prior experience in the hardware industry preferred
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must have clean driving record and ability to maintain same
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle or transportation
- Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business
- Ability to execute selling strategies and initiatives
- Being prepared for individual and group sales meetings
- Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals
- Must be flexible to different personality types and work habits, knowing that goals may be achieved in diverse ways

Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers
- Assist and educate customers about functions & services offered by Cascade, such as product selection, various product ordering processes, product returns and contact information
- Quickly and appropriately respond to customer questions, complaints, and concerns
- Maintain relationships with customers' staff
- Meet customers' needs by answering questions and providing resources
- Facilitate and introduce new items to customers and their staff
- Conduct store analysis and walk customer retail space on your own and with customers' buyers and store personnel to determine needs and services
- Conduct new item and product knowledge to buyer and store employees as needed
- Introduce new sales flyers and vendor sales items to customers and answer questions regarding products
- Answer both phone and email requests in a timely manner
- Determine and assist in store sets and building displays of Cascade products as needed
- Follow up on product inventory movement and assist in reordering and or exit strategies optimizing product sales
- Coordinate with other employees and vendors to broaden sales to existing customers
- Assist with placing orders and with returns as needed
- Communicate and share ideas between multiple location customers, buyers, and staff as needed
- Complete communications, follow up and work with Cascade vendor reps on customers' needs, regarding but not limited to existing products, new products, samples, and sales assistance (i.e., literature meeting and education)
- Coordinating account/product/vendor training
- Above-average understanding of products necessary for the residential construction industry, such as tools, hardware, adhesives, sealants, etc.
- Understand how retail dealers market to construction trade consumers
- Knowledge of retailing strategies, such as organizing products sets on dealer's shelves and best practices in merchandising
- Ability to recommend products relevant to specific trades, such as appropriate items for a concrete specialty dealer or drywall specialty dealer
- Continually update product knowledge and selling techniques Reporting

- Spend at least 75 percent of each month meeting face-to-face with existing and potential new customers on site
- A minimum of 16 hours per month contacting new prospective accounts face-to-face
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The working conditions for the outside sales people are divided between time in an office / home office and being out interacting with potential and current customers. Working hours are Mon-Fri between the hours of 7A.M. and 5P.M. with potential for some after hour and weekend events.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work indoors, at customer locations and in office environments
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to occasionally lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Must be able to drive a vehicle with clean driving record
- Both local and overnight travel may be required
