JOB SUMMARY:

Maintain the warehouse in a manner which ensures easy access to electrical and broadband materials and complies with all safety regulations. Assists in issuing and receiving both electrical and broadband materials for jobs and stock. Helps maintain the tool room and is responsible for tooling database, safety items, tools, machinery, and equipment available for check-out and distribution. Maintains records of which tools and equipment are signed out and when they are returned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive, monitor, and issue electrical and broadband tools and equipment and maintain necessary inventory records.
  • Maintain the tool room, its stock, and to whom items are issued and returned, if applicable.
  • Issue and receive electrical and broadband material for work orders and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Check out and in equipment such as trailers, backhoe, skid-steer, back yard machine, etc. logging and coordinating any necessary repairs.
  • Unload and load shipments, receive and check material ordered.
  • Stock bins, and issue material in cages.
  • Open all gates and doors, both morning and afternoon.
  • Determine if equipment is returned in good working condition.
  • Coordinate tool warranty and repairs
  • Issue all safety items such as gloves, safety glasses, hardhats, etc.
  • Coordinate dielectric testing of all rubber and fiberglass items in the warehouse.
  • Restock any unused materials when jobs are completed and put any salvageable material in the proper place for disposal.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NISC program for inventory and time entry.
  • Ability to maintain reliable, predictable, and reasonable attendance.
  • Assist in annual inventory.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Must be available for after-hours work which would include working a fair share of all necessary overtime and weekly on call rotation.
  • Assist custodial staff when necessary.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license from state of residence.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have knowledge of electrical and broadband materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Must be familiar with safety rules regarding inventory.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to lift safely.
  • Experience in the use of bar-coding technology.
  • Possess personal computer skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires constant standing, walking, handling, vision and depth perception. Requires frequent reaching, arm/hand, leg/foot and simple grasp for machine control operation. Requires occasional lifting of up to 130 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in an open warehouse without temperature controls and occasionally outdoors in inclement weather. Exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some mechanical aptitude to perform simple small tool maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Six months experience in warehousing and inventory control.
