As a Senior Technical Leader in mechanical modelling for batteries you will:
Design and execute Complex multi-physics computer simulations using FEA tools for the design and development of plastic and metal components and process simulations for use in battery designs.
Use FEA tools to iterate battery component design to reduce time to manufacture and improve product robustness. Demonstrated success in the design and high-speed manufacture of small metal and plastic parts.
This position is temporarily located out of Bethel, CT immediately, with relocation to the greater Atlanta Metro Atlanta at a later date, expected timing summer 2026.
Responsibilities
As a Modeling & Simulation Senior Analyst, your essential duties and responsibilities include:
•Develop models to reduce the reliance on physical prototyping in the evaluation of new design or process concepts related to battery can and closure systems.
•Development, application and deployment of tools for modelling component manufacturers including deep drawing, stamping of metal parts and plastic component molding.
•Make design recommendations based on models and manage the development of prototype parts for battery testing and model validation.
•Use Modeling tools to support problem solving and forensic analysis of failure modes
•This role will require significant interaction across internal businesses and scientific disciplines, both internal to Duracell and with external companies and service providers.
Qualifications
•PhD or Master in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related field) with strong computational modelling and simulation experience. Experience with FEA tools is key, preferably using Msc Marc (Hexagon) suite of products.
•Experience in modelling, optimization, and validation of product and/or process systems
•Ability to work effectively with others and leadership capabilities.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Low level of travel expected for this position.
