Description
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven IT User Support / Helpdesk Technician to provide technical support across our multi-site organization. The ideal candidate has strong real-world experience supporting end-users in a Windows and Office 365 environment and is comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. Most of the work will be performed remotely from our Dublin, Ohio headquarters, with occasional travel required to remote offices throughout Central Ohio, Pittsburgh, PA, and Florida.
This position plays a key role in maintaining user productivity, deploying new technology, and improving overall end-user computing experience. The technician will also take ownership of support escalations and assist in system planning and implementation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The User Support Specialist is accountable for providing support services to the IT Director. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 remote support for desktops, laptops, Office 365, Active Directory, desktop software, phone systems, facility access control systems, security systems, and basic network connectivity
- Occasionally travel to remote offices across Central Ohio, Pittsburgh PA, and Florida for on-site technical support, equipment setup, and infrastructure maintenance
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory and Office 365
- Develop new software, hardware, and systems to support staff productivity
- Identify opportunities to improve the end-user experience through smarter tools, better configurations, and optimized processes
- Document IT systems, support procedures, and inventory data
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of networking issues, including IP, DNS, VPN, LAN/WAN connectivity, switches, WAP’s, and firewalls
- Provide user training and best practice guidance as needed
- Participate in after-hours support and maintenance when required
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- 1+ years of hands-on IT support experience, preferably in a distributed or multi-site environment.
- Strong experience with:
- Microsoft Windows 1
- Office 365 support and administration
- Active Directory user and group management
- Remote support tools and techniques
- Basic networking (IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, switches, VPN, firewalls)
- VoIP or phone system support
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for site visits (mileage reimbursed)
- Ability to lift and transport IT hardware (monitors, desktops, printers, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Experience with cloud-based environments (Azure AD, SharePoint)
- Experience with Yardi property management software or ability to learn
- Scripting knowledge (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience leading or supporting IT projects and deployments
