Operations Manager
Location: Stone Mountain, GA
Reports to: Director of Operations
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations and lead a team of front-line employees toward excellence in quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Quality
- Ensure a safe, compliant work environment with zero-injury objectives.
- Proactively monitor product quality, resolve defects, and implement root-cause corrective actions.
- Support customer delivery requirements with an unwavering focus on quality and service standards.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and inspire front-line employees to achieve departmental goals and maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement.
- Conduct performance and development reviews, provide coaching and clear growth opportunities.
- Display hands-on leadership by actively engaging in operations and modeling best practices.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure all operations adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop and implement methods to eliminate bottlenecks, improve workflow, and increase efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HR) to align operations with business objectives.
- Continuous Improvement & Metrics
- Drive operational improvements using Lean methodologies (Kaizen, 5S, LSS).
- Track, analyze, and report on KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Production & Planning
- Oversee labor planning, production scheduling, and equipment utilization to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Collaborate with planners to maintain inventory accuracy and right-sized stock levels.
- Resolve scheduling and material management issues to meet demand and delivery goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated hands-on leadership style with proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Experience in high-growth or complex manufacturing environments.
