Clinvet SA is widely regarded as one of the leading animal health CRO's globally.  We are recruiting for an Attendant: Household Arthropods (Entry Level position) within our Arthropod and Helminth Colonies Department at Clinvet South Africa at our Bloemfontein site.

Primary Job Purpose

To assist in performing arthropod related tasks 

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in performing specific arthropod and arthropod breeding tasks to ensure safe and successful arthropod breeding practices
• Interact, handle and care for animals to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals
• Perform specific study related tasks (counting of arthropods)
• Record and handle raw data to ensure accurate and consistent information for departmental and study use
• Cleaning of the facility and equipment to prevent contamination and to achieve a clean, orderly audit ready facility 
• Handling and cleaning of laundry to ensure cleanliness of animal bedding, clothing, and other materials
• Cleaning of animal housing and equipment to maintain and optimize animal health and wellbeing
• Provision of feed and water to all animals in the facility to ensure healthy and well cared for animals
• Safe and effective use and storage of laboratory consumables
• Monitoring of environmental monitoring devices (temperature and humidity)
• Handling and disposing of waste materials in order to comply with health and environmental regulations 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Grade 12, and
• At least 6 months’ experience in a similar role
• Driver’s License
