The Behavioral Product Strategy Senior Advisor is responsible for supporting Cigna Behavioral Products from product development, strategy, and delivery to US Employer clients. This role will foster and promote collaboration between the Evernorth Behavioral Health team in the co-creation of future behavioral products and solutions to retain and grow market share in US Employer. This role will also work closely with the US Employer Sales & the Behavioral Clinical Account Manager Organization as well as with Behavioral Go-To-Market (GTM) to bring market feedback into the Product Organization to ensure keen focus on competitive dynamics, successful sales training, go-to-market approach, and ultimately supporting the financial success of the Cigna enterprise.

There will be a deep focus on identifying, prioritizing, and delivering on Cigna's needs with Evernorth and driving Cigna’s strategy in launching and implementing solutions for Cigna Behavioral Health. This individual will collaborate and interface with respective Evernorth product peers and development teams to elevate Cigna Health Plan needs and thread this through solution design, development, and delivery.

This position will be an individual contributor with product execution experience and must have a well-developed matrix management process with proven ability to drive to consensus and demonstrate high influencing skills to accomplish significant objectives in a complex environment and develop and execute strategies that maximize innovation, growth, and revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Cigna Health Plan Behavioral Product Lead for Carve-In and / or Total Population Solutions; inclusive of integration opportunities with Medical and Pharmacy products and product-agnostic innovation.
  • Facing out to Evernorth (EN) as one voice representing Cigna Behavioral and US Employer buyer group needs and driving the associated GTM strategy to meet those needs.
  • Defines Cigna's strategy Behavioral products, integration of other products and product-agnostic innovations by:
    • leveraging data and insights, understanding client needs, assessing the landscape and trends, and identifying cost opportunities. 
    • working with the segments and Behavioral GTM lead to align on the strategy and priorities that also influence the EN solutions roadmap.
    • aggregating Cigna Health Plan needs across segments and representing needs/participating in strategic planning and prioritization processes.
    • translating these needs into multi-year roadmaps and Go to Market strategy.
  • Coordinates with EN team/peers to align on solution roadmap, product pipeline and solutions Cigna will enable across segments (inclusive of US Employer).
  • Supports Cigna Health Plan business case development and value analysis inclusive of portfolio submission requirements to include pricing analysis, associated required materials to socialize strategy, and facilitate funding submission.
  • Reviews performance of solution and innovations and provides collective feedback on improvements needed, driving, and owning tactical resolution.
  • Management of escalated solution service issues, interfacing with peers in EN to drive root cause, resolution and remediation plan to hold accountable remediation timelines.
  • Manages EN Behavioral solution development, launch and implementation for Cigna Health Plan interfacing with respective EN leads and development project teams to ensure alignment of scope, development/launch/implementation requirements, contracting needs and adherence to timelines in support of launch and market commitments.
  • Defines and accountable for Cigna Health Plan end to end GTM approach including but not limited to market requirements such as pricing, packaging, feature requirements, implementation requirements, performance guarantees, reporting.
  • Defines and accountable for all aspects of Cigna launch enablement of Solutions and innovations including but not limited to development of B2B marketing materials, sales trainings and demos, RFPs responses, proposal library, KnowledgeXchange content.
  • Responsible for ongoing management of aligned products or innovations including but not limited to maintenance of KnowledgeXchange content, ongoing sales support to drive adoption and penetration in support of sales targets, PBAB/ERC, issue escalation/resolution/remediation, collaborating with Evernorth on solution performance management.

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years of experience within the healthcare industry.
  • Product experience required, behavioral health experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cigna’s segments, products and supporting platforms preferred.
  • Experience with sales, consultants, and clients.
  • Tenacious self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Strong financial acumen with financial analysis experience, knowledge of pricing methodologies and/or business case development preferred.
