Job Purpose

  • To monitor, administer and support the core service SAN and NAS Storage Infrastructure.
  • To Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and problems within defined service-level agreements.
  • Providing high availability to Storage services with no down time.
  • Automate repetitive task to achieve optimal efficiency and reduce manual efforts as well as human error.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor storage infrastructure for performance, availability, and capacity.
  • Storage proactive health check, identifying the issue and fixing the same assuring uninterrupted Storage services for the business.
  • Storage allocation – end to end service availability.
  • Assuring high availability – work on the issue, drive major incident call and respective resolution with RCA.
  • Maintaining software and firmware to complaint and stable recommended version.
  • Assuring BCP/DR through replication and data -service recovery through backup with minimal and no disruption.
  • Process and knowledge share - Adhering to best and standard procedure and also producing knowledge base document along with technical discussion session.
  • Providing technical support for storage hardware, software & virtual appliances supporting hosted application environments and managed services.
  • Document standard operating procedures, configuration changes, and system upgrades.
  • Generate and maintain periodic performance and capacity reports.
  • Work closely with other IT departments (e.g., networking, system admins) to ensure seamless integration and performance of storage systems.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 4-8 years of total experience.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Key Technical skill:-
  • Strong knowledge of SAN - brocade zoning, IBM SAN Storage, Flash copy, Hypersawp, Policy based HA, firmware upgrades, performance fine tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge on NetApp cluster, snapmirror SVM DR, ONTAP select , ONTAP upgrades, data restore from snapshot, performance fine tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge on managing SAN switch (Brocade ) firmware, zoning, troubleshooting.
  • Failr knowledge on cloud infrastructure.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including night shift.
  • Very comfortable working from office.
  • Availability to support the operations over the weekend.
  • Ability to work at the Alcon AGS Bangalore office.
  • Ability to drive process improvements and standardization.

Work hours: 9 AM or 2 PM or 5 PM or Night Shift.
