This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to July 2026 with a salary in the range $102,565 - $111,686 (HEW 7), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

About This Opportunity
The Principal Advisor, Indigenous Employment contributes to the work of the ODVCIE to develop, implement, and review strategies, programs and other initiatives that contribute to increasing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce across UQ.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the development, implementation, and review of the UQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate and Professional Entry Pathways Programs.
Provide specialist advice on the attraction and recruitment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and participate in Indigenous recruitment activities.
Support the coordination of engagement activities, events, and training relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment.
Work with areas across UQ to embed the pillars of reconciliation aimed at facilitating cultural and attitudinal change across the organisation.
About You
The University of Queensland considers that being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991(Qld) and the filling of this position constitute a special/equal opportunity measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).
The position is therefore only open to Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
Degree/qualifications (human resources, business or project management) with relevant experience, or 4 years of equivalent professional experience and training.
Demonstrated experience in managing projects, from inception to delivery, including setting performance targets, risk mitigation, reporting, and review of outcomes.
Demonstrated knowledge of diversity and inclusion, with experience in researching and promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' diversity and inclusion challenges and initiatives.
Demonstrated high-level written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
