Description

kyHop Global is one of the premier ground transportation companies for airline crews. We provide the transportation for pilots and flight attendants during their layover periods in a multitude of cities. The primary purpose of this position is to manage, coordinate, and schedule a fleet of drivers according to airline schedules.

NOTE: Depending on location size; may be expected to be in the field 50-75% of their scheduled time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules and directs the work activity for a group of drivers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and the customer experience.
  • Provides leadership and direction to drivers to include process improvement, team-building, coaching and feedback.
  • Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets. Managing payroll costs daily including weekly submission to Human Resources. Managing fuel costs daily. Minimizes overtime only to emergencies situations. Recruit, interview, select, train, motivate, coach, and mentor transport drivers.
  • Responsible for daily maintenance review of fleet vehicles; daily vehicle inspections, schedule maintenance, and communicate concerns to Fleet Manager daily when necessary and through weekly. Manage checklists on the fleet.
  • Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, leading station safety meetings on a regular basis and meeting with individual staff members.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage local permits and vehicle registrations and communicate with finance for timely renewal.
  • Maintain positive professional relationship with airport ground transportation. Attend meetings as required.
  • Must complete required paperwork timely. Adhere to company policies and all protocol

What You’ll Do

As Assistant Station Leader, you’ll be in the action—leading from the front to ensure smooth, efficient operations. You’ll work alongside drivers and dispatchers, problem-solving in real time and ensuring airline crews get where they need to be, on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead by Example: Be a visible, hands-on leader, setting the standard for service and accountability. 
  • Run Daily Operations: Manage schedules, dispatching, and logistics to keep transportation seamless. 
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance: Enforce all safety protocols and maintain regulatory standards. 
  • Optimize Performance: Track KPIs, control costs, and drive profitability. 
  • Develop Your Team: Recruit, train, and coach employees to excel in their roles. 
  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Foster strong airline relationships and ensure top-tier customer satisfaction. 
  • “Player-Coach” Role: Expect to be actively involved, including driving 20–30% of the time.
     

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3 years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field preferred. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet. 
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, analyze reports, and build relationships. 
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor conditions. 
  • Valid driver’s license (meeting company insurance requirements). 
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
