At Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, we’re seeking an Assistant Nurse Operations Manager for our Level III/IV NICU. In this role, you’ll help guide an expert team dedicated to providing compassionate, life-saving care for our tiniest patients and their families.

About the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit:

Our 142-bed NICU has an array of specialized services including a program dedicated to the care of micro-preemies, and neonatal transport and ECMO programs. Orlando Health Winnie Palmer is proudly home to one of the largest award-winning neonatal intensive care units in the country and is recognized as a “Best Children’s Hospital” in Neonatology by U.S. News & World Reports.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Nurse Operations Manager with unit management, including staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation.

Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, serving as a role model and mentor.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and team performance.

Promote a culture of collaboration, compassion, and excellence.

Address patient and family concerns promptly, ensuring a positive experience.

Qualifications:

🔹 Education:

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Preferred: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a related graduate degree

🔹 Licensure/Certifications:

  • Active RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (or ability to obtain)

🔹 Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in NICU.
  •  Leadership experience is a plus, but not required—this is a growth opportunity!
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
  • A passion for patient care and team development.
