About the Role:
As a Cook at Doubletree Charlotte within the Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation industry, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests. Your primary focus will be preparing high-quality meals that meet our established standards for taste, presentation, and safety. You will work closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service during all shifts. This role requires maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to creating memorable dining experiences that enhance our guests' overall satisfaction and support the hotel's reputation for excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal culinary training or certification.
- Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of diverse cuisines and menu preparation techniques.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Familiarity with inventory management and kitchen equipment operation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands and guest expectations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and disposal of waste.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to comply with health regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to coordinate meal preparation and support smooth kitchen operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Adapt to menu changes and special dietary requests as needed.
