Job Description:
Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Project / Program Manager to lead complex construction projects within a life sciences portfolio. This role will serve as the day-to-day interface with our corporate client, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of large-scale biopharmaceutical facilities and research labs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in construction project management, a strong understanding of regulatory and EHS standards, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and vendors across concurrent projects.
Responsibilities:
- Define project scope and objectives by gathering business requirements and stakeholder input.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate design efforts with internal stakeholders and external consultants.
- Incorporate strategic foresight and emerging technologies into planning.
- Lead engineering and construction teams through all project phases: planning, design, preconstruction, and execution.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Develop and manage master project budgets and schedules.
- Provide financial analysis and forecasting, ensuring alignment with client financial objectives.
- Track and report on actual costs, change orders, and final project accounting.
- Lead cross-functional project teams and serve as liaison between client and design/construction professionals.
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
- Manage third-party vendors, contractors, and Owner-direct consultants.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, local codes, and regulatory standards.
- Implement and uphold Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures.
- Lead QA/QC efforts to ensure the quality and effectiveness of project outcomes.
- Lead value engineering sessions to optimize cost and performance.
- Oversee project documentation, closeout processes, and final reporting.
- Resolve outstanding issues, including change orders and quality disputes.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. to where applicable.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6–10 years of experience managing design and construction of commercial or life sciences facilities
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality, complex projects on time and within budget
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with team members and stakeholders
- Ability to present to senior management to gain approvals
- Passion for solving complex challenges within aggressive timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software platforms
- Consulting experience preferred
The salary range for this full-time role is $140K-$180 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
