The Physics Department is seeking candidates for the Department Tutor role.

Physics department tutors are hired separate from the Tutoring Center to work with introductory Physics students.  These tutors will be expected to work on a fixed schedule for a set amount of hours every week, and must inform the department Program Assistant if they are unable to hold their tutoring sessions on any given day before the session is scheduled to begin.  An ideal candidate for this position is able to work well with other students, provide quality customer service, and work well under pressure.

The position is open to current Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Physics majors who have successfully completed PHY 201/203, PHY 202/204, PHY 306, and PHY 321.  Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in order to be considered for this position.

3. Gain an understanding of professionalism and confidence in working in a fast paced academic environment.
