Job Summary
About the vacancy:
Location: John Muir High School
Hours/Day: 8 hours/day
Days/Week: 5 days/week
Months/Year: 12 months/year
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, monitor
attendance of students in alternative programs, assist in all aspects of student services
intervention and prevention as it is related to truancy and attendance recovery.

Requirements / Qualifications
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of full-time experience working with teenagers or young adults in a related field is required. Experience working in student services for a school, a school district, or county office of education is desirable. Candidates with the ability to read, write and speak Spanish are encouraged to apply.
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent sixty (60) semester units from an accredited college or university with courses in education, psychology, sociology, or related fields.
Equivalency Provision:
Additional experience may be substituted for all or part of the required AA degree or equivalent of sixty (60) semester units/ ninety (90) quarter units on the basis of one (1) year of full-time experience being equal to thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units of college courses in business, public administration, education, psychology or related field. If substituting experience for education, a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
