ONLY THE FIRST 40 APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. CLOSING DATE WILL BE REVISED BASED ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. The top ten (10) applicants scoring at the 70% level or higher on the written examination will be eligible for the oral portion of the examination. In case there are fewer than three (3) applicants at the 70% level, the three (3) candidates with the highest scores, but no score lower than 50% may be eligible for the oral portion of the examination. Eligibility list will be established for six months. ALL APPLICANTS MUST PRESENT A PHOTO IDENTIFICATION (DRIVER'S LICENSE OR WORK I.D.) WHEN REPORTING FOR THE WRITTEN TEST. SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Applicants must print and bring a copy of the confirmation email received upon applying to the examination. Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Valid California Driver's License and personal means of transportation between sites required.

All applicants will be required to take a written exam. The written exam will be held on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2025 at 8:30 am. Information on specific time and location for the written exam will be sent in a separate email confirming receipt of application. A recent TB Skin Test exam with negative report required upon hiring. Completion of 4 years high school, knowledge of the general needs and behavior of children, use of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and an understanding of basic mathematics operations. Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish as well as completion of an accredited Instructional Assistant course at a community college or equivalent experience is preferred.
