About the Department

The Inspections Scheduler performs routine to moderately complex administrative, secretarial, and clerical work for the Deputy Code Administrator and Lead Multi-Trades Inspectors in all matters of inspections. This position schedules Multi-Trades Inspectors at the highest level of efficiency possible by utilizing the skill set and availability of Multi-Trades Inspectors to reduce redundancy or any other operational delays. In the role, the work involves analyzing the next day’s schedule of assigned inspections and periodically checking throughout the day to make sure efficiency and that balance of workload is evenly spread out among available Multi-Trades Inspectors to reduce the number trips to each project and improve productivity. The Inspections Scheduler is also responsible for writing correspondence and letters to follow departmental policies that have been established for Stop Work Orders, Investigations, Condemned Structures, Expired Permits, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

High school Diploma or GED and three (3) years’ experience scheduling; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Other Qualifications

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment.   Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
