Performs intermediate skilled work on a variety of automotive equipment; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Garage Manager or other division lead.
Position Duties
Inspecting, repairing and maintaining automobiles, trucks and equipment; maintaining records.

Inspects and services automobiles, trucks and other equipment.
Changes and repairs tires and responds to road service calls.
Installs water pumps, radiators, batteries, brakes, and other equipment; replaces engines and transmissions.
Replaces hydraulic lines on equipment.
Performs tune-ups on cars, tractors, trucks, mowers, weed eaters, etc.
Performs electrical work on automotive equipment; repairs and replaces defective parts; adjusts lights.
Operates shop equipment such as tire machine, computer balancer, car lift and alignment machine.
Keeps shop area neat and free of safety hazards.
Performs related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications
General knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the repair of light automotive passenger cars, trucks, construction and maintenance equipment; general knowledge and skill in the use and operation of shop tools and machinery; ability to detect by inspection any worn or broken automotive parts; ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems; ability to interpret and work from diagrams and installation and repair charts; ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
Other Qualifications
Education and Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in repairing automotive and light power-driven equipment.
Special Requirements
Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina. Must have own tools.
