Core Responsibilities: 

  • Provides strategic and operational direction for the plant  
  • Ensures that products are produced on time, of good quality, and meet or exceed all customer and company standards 
  • Maintains strong relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service (quality and delivery reliability) 
  • Enforces a strong safety culture at the manufacturing site 
  • Ensures that planned KPI targets are met or exceeded 
  • Oversees preparations of budgets, and approve expenditures to ensure that labor, materials and equipment are managed efficiently; pro-actively pursues efficiency, quality, and flexibility initiativesto offset sales price erosion, material price and salary increases, and to minimize impact of volume fluctuations, warranty or other quality related costs 
  • Manages inventories and commercial obligations to optimize working capital requirements 
  • Drives continuous improvement through implementation of BOSLE principles and best practices 
  • Enforces APQP practices, and other upfront engineering activities, to ensure good launches and disciplined engineering change performance 
  • Identifies and solves problems affecting production throughput, quality, or cost performance to optimize manpower and equipment efficiency and utilization 
  • Ensures that rigorous predictive and preventive maintenance practices are employed to increase efficiency and extend the useful life of capital equipment 
  • Maintains compliance with all corporate policies and relevant governmental regulations and safeguard the corporation from undue risk 
  • Promotes energy efficiency and environmental stewardship to minimize the impact of the plants operation on the environment 
  • Participates in the local community to establish a good  corporate image in the communities in which the plant operates and forge beneficial relationships with business and governmental organizations and agencies 
  • Promotes a respectful work environment and recruits, develops and retains human resources to maintain a qualified, motivated and productive workforce. Leads by example and lives up to Benteler’s mission, values and global leadership principles. Uses standard HR tools e.g. the appraisal process to provide regular feedback and agree upon tasks and goals with respective employees 

Job Requirements: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g. engineering) with five or more years of manufacturing management experience 
  • Years of working experience: 10+ years of working experience within a manufacturing- management envioronment 
  • Years of industry experience: 10+ years of working experience within the automotive experience.  
  • Certifications: n.a. 
  • Physical requirements: 
    Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and sitting most of the time. Limited walking and standing
