Description
The Director of Oral Surgery Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for a group of oral surgery practices. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, referral relationship management, and team development while ensuring the highest levels of patient, employee, and provider satisfaction.
Operational & Financial Leadership
- Establish and maintain standard operating processes to optimize practice performance.
- Monitor key business metrics to assess financial and operational performance; working with doctors to implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, enhance the client experience, and refine strategy and performance.
- Serve as liaison between oral surgery practices and HighFive’s Homebase office to support operational initiatives.
- Monitor performance over multiple offices to identify operational opportunities to build and advise on sustainable practice growth.
- Lead strategic implementation of growth and operational improvement plans.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies that maximize revenue generation and market penetration, in alignment with overall goals and objectives.
People Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff to foster a positive and engaged team culture.
- Partner with HR on recruitment strategies to meet short- and long-term staffing needs.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to drive professional growth.
- Hold team members accountable for results and adherence to operational standards.
- Build a pipeline of strong leadership talent for future needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years managing operations within the oral surgery or dental specialty industry.
- Experience overseeing operations across multiple locations and multiple states or within a DSO model.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of day-to-day oral surgery practice operations, including scheduling, staff relations, and revenue cycle management.
- Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance tracking for multi-site practices.
- Ability to analyze KPIs and operational data to drive strategic decisions and performance improvements.
- Experience with dental/oral surgery practice management software such as CareStack, EndoVision, WinOMS, DSN, or similar systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
