Description:
Maintain a high level of Food Safety and Product Quality through the cleaning and sanitation of food processing equipment and the general process area. In addition, the sanitation department is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the building is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes cleaning and sanitation of operation areas including but not limited to; conveyors, belts, rollers, storage racks, walls, control panels, windows, cleaning utensils/equipment, ceilings, lights, pipes, rollup doors, floors, drains, trash cans, and dock areas.
- Upkeep of the cleaning and disinfection of common areas including but not limited to; bathrooms, office, and breakrooms. .
- General facility maintenance as needed to breakdown equipment and restore as part of the cleaning process
- Process trash removal and corrugated scraps
- Fills supplies as needed and aids with inventory upkeep
- Cleaning of the dock, production, and outside of the facility as needed
- Cleaning of machinery on the floor during PM
- Performs other tasks/duties as assigned
- Operates sanitation equipment and machinery in accordance with instructions and in a safe manner
- Follows safety policies and GMP at all times
- Adheres to PPE and Hygiene policies at all times
- Reports all food safety and sanitation issues in a timely manner
- LOTO training required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year custodial/janitorial experience OR 1 year sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or pharmaceutical facility
- HS Diploma/GED
- Previous warehouse environment cleaning experience preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Practical attitude and ability to learn new skills
- Basic knowledge of safe handling of cleaning products
- High performance orientated and a sense of urgency about work
- Ability to work independently and/or within a team environment
- Flexibility to work shifts as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a temperature control facility
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights up to 90 feet
