INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT en Morongo Unified School District

Assists teacher with instructing general education and special education students (e.g. math groups, reading, behavioral skills, writing, verbal skills, etc.) for the purpose of implementing academic and behavior goals and ensuring students success. There are several types of Instructional Assistant: Classroom, Physical Education, Transitional Kindergarten, Mild Moderate, Extensive Support Needs, Visually Impaired, Speech, and Positive Behavior.

This application will be used for the following Instructional Assistant (IA) positions: IA CLASSROOM, IA CLASSROOM TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN (TK), IA P.E., IA MILD MODERATE, IA EXTENSIVE SUPPORT NEEDS, SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE IA, IA PBIS, IA VISUALLY IMPAIRED, AND IA SPEECH. Instructional Assistant positions are usually 3 - 3.5 hours per day. Occasionally, there are Instructional Assistant positions for 6 or more hours. Applications are accepted continuously to maintain an eligibility list. QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE INVITED TO A FUTURE EXAMINATION.

All applicants must have: 1. High School diploma or GED equivalent. Please attach to your application or be prepared to present if selected for a position. 2. Six months experience working with children in a supervisory capacity, volunteer experience can be accepted to meet the requirement. 3. A completed Employment Application. Resumes are not accepted in-lieu of a completed application. 4. Receive a passing score on the Instructional Assistant examination.
