Ayres is seeking a civil engineer for municipal and land development design with a proven track record of technical design and successfully managing or executing a diverse variety of projects. On any given day, you’ll:
- Lead and work collaboratively to deliver projects for municipal governments and developers.
- Oversee the technical design on municipal or civil engineering projects including water supply and distribution, sanitary sewers, water main, storm water systems, streets, and other public and private development projects.
- Gather and analyze data on projects and prepare reports, plans and specifications, and cost estimates.
- Expand our client base and cross-sell other Ayres services.
- Build and maintain respectful working relationships with design team, PMs, and other leaders within the company.
- Actively engage in professional organizations to maintain and/or share technical knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered professional engineer (PE) in North Carolina.
- 8+ years of experience in the field of municipal utility design and construction.
- Ability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects.
- Ensure the work is accurate, thorough, and aligns with the established standards while providing helpful feedback.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, especially in smaller communities.
- Working knowledge of OpenRoads.
