Civil Engineer – Project Manager en Ayres Associates

On any given day, you’ll:

• Lead and work collaboratively to deliver projects for municipal governments and developers.
• Oversee the technical design on municipal or civil engineering projects including water supply and distribution, sanitary sewers, water main, storm water systems, streets, and other public and private development projects.
• Gather and analyze data on projects and prepare reports, plans and specifications, and cost estimates.
• Expand our client base and cross-sell other Ayres services.
• Build and maintain respectful working relationships with design team, PMs, and other leaders within the company.
• Actively engage in professional organizations to maintain and/or share technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered professional engineer (PE) in North Carolina.
• 8+ years of experience in the field of municipal utility design and construction.
• Ability to independently manage small to medium-sized projects.
• Ensure the work is accurate, thorough, and aligns with the established standards while providing helpful feedback.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record. 

Desired Skills and Experiences:

• Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, especially in smaller communities.
• Working knowledge of OpenRoads.
