Incident Manager

The incident management function within our global technology team help to mature the incident management process across the application and infrastructure stack that underpin QRT’s trading systems. They are looking to scale the process and improve control & governance activities to meet the internal demands from business and technology stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep experience across both application and infrastructure technologies and is comfortable working in a highly cross-functional environment.

Your future role within QRT

  • Incident Management, Crisis & Stakeholder Communication
    • Lead the identification, classification, escalation, and resolution of incidents (P1).
    • Assess business impact analysis and ensure this is fully documented.
    • Act as the central point of command during incidents, coordinating between technical teams (IT, Network, Cloud, Application Production Support & Application development) and business stakeholders.
    • Provide clear, concise, and timely updates to executives, technology leaders, and control functions.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure adherence to incident management processes under high-pressure situations.
  • Post-Incident Activities
    • Lead Post-Incident Reviews (PIRs) with cross-functional teams, driving root cause analysis, documentation and identification of preventative/mitigating actions.
    • Track and follow up on remediation until closure.
    • Continuously improve incident processes based on lessons learned.
  • Process Improvement
    • Formalise and document incident response roles and responsibilities. Ensure all policy, process & procedures are matured over time to ensure compliance.
    • Work to improve quality of reporting for all major incidents, ensuring adherence to business and governance requirements. Mature reporting to identity trends to support management decision making.
    • Contribute to process improvement in tooling used during incident management and in post-incident activities.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Maintain and improve the Incident Management process, ensuring alignment with best practice.
    • Ensure incidents are logged, tracked, and documented accurately in relevant tools (For example Service Now and Jira Service Management).
    • Contribute to major incidents KPIs and incident trend analysis.
    • Support technology management to ensure relevant regulatory and operational risk requirements are fulfilled. (DORA, Business Continuity Planning)

Your present skillset

  • 8+ years’ experience in technology, infrastructure, or service management functions within financial services.
  • Proven experience in commanding, managing and co-ordinating high-impact, business-critical incidents across the organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, on-premises operations, and IT security controls
  • Self-starter with a balance of technical fluency and governance orientation
  • Appreciation for continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with ITSM Tools like Jira and PageDuty
