Description
The Hospitality Aide Weekend Warrior is responsible for providing non-clinical assistance and support to residents during weekend shifts in a healthcare, long-term care, or assisted living facility. This role focuses on enhancing the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents by assisting with non-medical tasks, offering companionship, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment. The Hospitality Aide Weekend Warrior works closely with the nursing and caregiving staff to ensure that residents' needs are met during weekend hours.
Key Responsibilities:

Resident Assistance:
- Assist residents with non-clinical tasks, such as transporting them to dining areas, activities, or appointments within the facility.
- Help residents with personal tasks, such as making beds, organizing their personal items, and ensuring their living spaces are clean and comfortable.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in conversation, games, or recreational activities to promote social interaction and well-being.

Dining and Meal Support:
- Assist residents with meal service, including setting up meal trays, serving meals, and providing assistance with feeding if necessary.
- Ensure that residents are comfortable during mealtimes and help with clearing tables or trays after meals.
- Monitor residents during meals to ensure that they are eating safely and receiving proper nutrition.

Environmental Support:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in common areas, including lounges, dining areas, and hallways.
- Ensure that residents’ rooms are tidy and free of clutter, assisting with light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Assist with the restocking of supplies, such as linens, towels, and personal care items, in residents' rooms and common areas.

Resident Engagement:
- Encourage residents to participate in social and recreational activities during the weekend, helping to facilitate their involvement in group or individual activities.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, helping to alleviate feelings of isolation or loneliness during weekends.
- Act as a liaison between residents and the care team, communicating any concerns or requests from residents to nursing staff.

Safety and Comfort:
- Ensure residents’ safety by following facility protocols and assisting with mobility or transfers when necessary.
- Help residents with any safety equipment, such as walkers, wheelchairs, or grab bars, ensuring they are used properly and safely.
- Report any safety concerns or hazards to the supervising nurse or facility management.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospitality or caregiving role, especially in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is preferred but not required. New applicants are welcome.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and resident-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from nursing staff and supervisors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for residents.
- Ability to engage with residents in a positive and supportive manner.
