About the Role
As an EHS Coordinator at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and directing occupational health and safety programs at our Wheatland Tube facility in Warren, OH. This position requires strong leadership, assertive decision-making, and a proactive approach to promoting a safe workplace. You will contribute directly to the company’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for all employees while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
You will collaborate with plant management, frontline supervisors, and the corporate safety team to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and drive a culture of safety. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Warren, OH.

What You’ll Do
Provides leadership and coaching on safety and health matters to plant management and frontline supervisors.
Develops and maintains comprehensive safety programs and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
Conducts regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and recommend corrective actions.
Delivers safety orientation and ongoing training to employees and contractors to maintain safety awareness.
Investigates accidents and near-misses, prepares incident reports, and develops corrective action plans.
Monitors updates to OSHA regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Ensures availability, proper maintenance, and correct use of safety equipment and PPE.
Creates and updates Job Safety Analyses (JSA) for all positions within the facility.
Provides progress updates and safety reports to the Safety Manager through systems such as Intelex, email, and other methods.
Supports safety initiatives at other Zekelman facilities as needed.
Who You Are
3+ years of experience in occupational or construction safety, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Associate’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety protocols, and hazard identification practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train and engage employees at all levels.
Proficiency in safety management systems (e.g., Intelex, EHS Insight).
Assertive, decisive, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
OSHA 10- or 30-hour certification and First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain focus on continuous improvement.
Physical ability to perform work in a plant environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
