Our Performance Management team plays a central role in steering Hapag-Lloyd’s global revenue streams. We are responsible for managing and driving performance of our revenue management products (e.g. QFP, CVA, QQF) as well as other revenue components such as regional surcharges, D&D, and VAS. Through structured performance dialogues with our Regions (RPM Calls) and Trade Management (RIO Calls), we ensure initiatives are translated into action and progress is transparent. The outcomes of these discussions form the basis for board-level performance calls (MPC).

In this role, you are not directly accountable for financial performance, but you are responsible for driving performance. This requires a proactive and independent working style, the ability to challenge and guide stakeholders, and the discipline to balance speed with quality - since many reports and insights are shared at board level. Another key element is ensuring that performance on product and revenue stream level is measurable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and steer performance of revenue management products (QFP, CVA, QQF) and additional components such as regional surcharges, D&D, and VAS.
  • Prepare, moderate, and follow up on regular performance discussions with Regions (RPM Calls) and Trade Management (RIO Calls).
  • Consolidate results and provide insights that serve as the basis for board performance calls (MPC).
  • Ensure that product and revenue stream performance is measurable and KPIs are continuously improved.
  • Collaborate with the dedicated analytics team to drive updates and enhancements in KPI dashboards and reporting tools (e.g. QlikSense, Webfocus).
  • Proactively initiate actions and performance-related projects or working groups to address identified opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and steering tools to support contribution maximization.
  • Deliver high-quality performance reports and analyses to stakeholders, including the Revenue Management team and the board.
  • Collaborate closely with Regional Sales, Trade Management, and other stakeholders to support achievement of targets.
  • Provide actionable recommendations and ensure proper follow-up on initiatives aimed at bottom-line improvement.

Qualifications

  • Completed shipping apprenticeship or university degree, plus 5+ years of experience in the maritime industry (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
  • Proactive, independent, and target-oriented working style with a high sense of ownership.
  • Ability to balance fast execution with high-quality output, especially in board-level reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Experience with Hapag-Lloyd systems (Webfocus, QlikView, FIS) and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good knowledge of Hapag-Lloyd’s sales processes.
  • Motivated for self-development, receptive to new ideas, and able to drive initiatives forward.
  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
