Huntington-Hill Imaging Center (managed by California Medical Business Services, LLC) is dedicated to improving medical practices through the use of innovative technologies, strategic partnerships, and years of industry experience. Our efforts are directed toward providing quality patient care in the Radiology field. Our team consists of Board Certified Radiologists, Medical Administrators, Technologists, Billing and Scheduling staff, and Patient Support staff.
We are currently seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Representative - Level Two to provide support to the Billing team. This full-time position will have a 40 hour/week day-shift schedule of Monday-Friday from 7:20am - 4:00pm, and is located at our Business office in Arcadia.
The scheduled shift is:
- Monday-Friday from 7:20am-4:00pm
- Ocassional Saturday overtime (as needed)
- There is an opportunity to work remotely after successfully passing the introductory period and meeting goals.
Pay Range: $21.50/hour-$22.00/hour
The A/R Representative - Level Two will have shown proficiency in all previous level requirements and will be able to cover those positions but will transfer their main job responsibility to working client’s unpaid insurance accounts. The position requires contact with insurers and patients by phone and internet for multiple practices and specialties. To be proficient at this level, the representative should show a minimum average of $25,000 brought in monthly as a direct result of their actions taken in the denial and/or Insurance tickler. Accounts Receivable Level Two is also responsible for keeping up with changes in reimbursement policies and communicating with other A/R Team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Proficient application knowledge of CMBS billing software - Imagine
- Understand the multiple insurance denial codes and take appropriate actions to resolve.
- Go online or call to verify claim status on unpaid claims.
- Show proficiency in completing insurance appeal via website or, when unavailable, by paper appeal form.
- Work a minimum of 30 accounts a day average. Averages are figured weekly.
- Have accountability on accounts placed on HOLD or re-assigned.
- Follow up on A/R claims over 45 days (or more depending on insurance contract)
- Enter legible notes and read all prior notes before taking action.
- Identify system issues and bring to management’s attention with possible solutions and/or suggestions.
- Contribute to team goals and work on special projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in medical billing and collections or completion of accredited medical billing course
- Experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
- Basic proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and website navigation
- Typing skills (minimum of 40 words per minute)
- 10 key skills and basic math skills necessary
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Understanding of healthcare claims.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, HCPCS and CPT coding.
- Knowledge of various insurances (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and others).
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate professionally in writing and verbally.
