Spire Hull & East Riding Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and adaptable Bank Medical Records Officer to join the team

In this role you will strive to maintain a confidential, up-to-date Medical Records single patient record and storage system for the Spire Hull & East Riding Hospital.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To maintain an efficient storage and retrieval system for notes.
- To file on discharge each in-patient, minor procedure patient notes, ensuring that all legally required documentation is present.
- To combine records of patients with duplicate numbers into one file with one hospital/patient number.
- To maintain a tracer/location system for all types of notes, both internal and external i.e. in-house and NHS.
- To file Patient Registration Forms and any other loose filing as appropriate in a timely manner.
- Pull and prepare notes for pre-operative assessment clinics, in-patients and out-patients clinics.
- To keep professionally updated and act on any new guidelines.
- To maintain a coding system for ease of identification and eventual selective destruction of case notes.

- Someone who is highly organised and accurate and works well to tight deadlines
- Experience working in a similar role is essential
- Must be a good communicator and have good computer literacy
- Someone who works well as part of a team
