SHIPPING-RECEIVING CLERK en ABX Innovative Packaging Solutions

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This position help keep the flow of merchandise moving from ABX vendors to ABX customers. They also keep records of incoming and outgoing merchandise. This includes receiving, labeling, and storage materials, shipment of finished products, adherence to safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, quality standards and HACCP/Food Safety.

WORK PERFORMED:

 Shipping:

• Prepare orders for shipping
• Match quantities to paperwork
• Match lot numbers to paperwork
• Identify if product requires customer's item number
• Wrap and prepare orders in which product will arrive at customer's business in good condition
• Schedule carrier pickup

 Receiving:

• Unload product.
• Perform quantity counts and match paperwork.
• Verify lot numbers match paperwork.
• Identify any damaged and/or mis-shipped product and follow defined procedures.
• Notify Lead person when product has arrived if production schedule requires immediate use.
• Stock product in proper location.

 General:

• Order packaging supplies, wood pallets, pallet pads, stretch wrap, protective corners, labels, and other necessary department materials.
• Log in the correct lot number and quantities, both in and out of building.
• Work with the QA Manager to ensure products with a status of non-conformance/HOLD have the proper labels applied.
• Ensure that necessary plant conditions are met, so that all activities and manufacturing are conducted in accordance with regulatory, health, safety, and environmental rules.
• Ensure structural upkeep and cleanliness of interior and exterior loading dock areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                     

• Good communication skills, verbal and written, with a variety of internal and external contacts. 
• Must possess basic math skills and participate in team discussions and activities as well as work alone.
• Must be able to receive, understand and follow safety training instruction in operation of machinery and operation of forklifts.
