The role in a nutshell
As Manager, Strategic Finance (FP&A), you will play a critical role in building and scaling the financial planning and analysis function at Octaura. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will own budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. You will partner with cross-functional leaders to provide data-driven insights, guide resource allocation, and support strategic decision-making.
This is a highly visible and impactful position where you will help shape Octaura’s growth story and ensure strong financial discipline. The role is ideal for a proactive and analytical finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth FinTech environment.
Please note this role is based out of our NYC office and our current structure is 4 days in the office, 1 day from home.
Core responsibilities
- Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Build dynamic financial models to evaluate business performance, unit economics, and investment opportunities.
- Provide regular financial and operational analysis, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner with leadership across Product, Sales, Operations, and People to drive strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting packages for internal stakeholders and the Board.
- Prepare materials for executive leadership, investors, and Board meetings.
- Support capital allocation decisions, scenario planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Help establish FP&A systems, processes, and tools to support scalability and automation.
Desired experience
- 4-7 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, consulting, or a similar analytical finance role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized, deadline-oriented, with sharp attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker) preferred.
- Experience in high-growth SaaS, FinTech, or capital markets strongly preferred.
Compensation
The base pay range for this position in New York is $160,000 – $190,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year-end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
