Job Title: Sales Representative

Job Summary
This position will be responsible for the overall sales and customer service for their client base. Performance expectations will be evaluated based on meeting sales targets. This individual is expected to strategically grow existing accounts through strong customer relationships and providing a high level of service. This position is also responsible for expanding their customer base by identifying sales opportunities and developing plans to meet the customers business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other factors
- Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor
- Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of distributors
- Record all sales activity, including notes and opportunities, in CRM for assigned territory
- Submits orders, referring to price lists and product literature
- Coordinates involvement of internal resources and drive utilization of the company’s value-added services
- Conducts regular account and business reviews to include market trends, customer needs, sales opportunities, and recommendations on customer’s business solutions
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
- Other duties as assigned

- Extensive knowledge of industry; JanSan, paper, and disposable food service products
- Business acumen to discuss, present, and develop solutions based on customer needs
- Service-oriented, with strong closing skills, and the ability to negotiate
- Ability to travel frequently to develop strong relationships with customers
- Consistent utilization of CRM software to record all sales activity

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or Business Administration is preferred. Equivalent experience and training considered.
- 5+ years of territory management experience within JanSan, paper, or disposable food service product lines.
Working Environment
Regular work is performed in an office environment. Noise level can be moderate. Sitting and standing for long periods of time while talking on the phone and viewing computer screens is needed for this role. Frequent travel is required to customer sites. This may include site tours and traveling an various forms of mass transit.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and/or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity for calculator and computer keyboard usage.
