AGI General Contracting located in Santa Ana, California is seeking candidates for a three to six-month Project Engineer Internship. The Project Engineer Intern will work on projects as part of the construction team. They will be responsible for learning how to support the project team and assist in maintaining project records, Requests for Information (RFI’s), and submittals. The Intern will be involved in virtually all aspects of project management procedures and functions, including but not limited to:
- Learn how to review and process submittals and assist in obtaining and distributing submittals to key stakeholders.
- Learn and assist the project team in preparing RFI’s, distributing responses, and tracking outstanding RFI’s.
- Learn about the change order process and help the project team in identifying, compiling, and tracking change orders and the associated documentation.
- Learn and assist the project team in creating, maintaining, and organizing project files, plans and correspondence.
- Understand Subcontractor compliance and associated documents and help obtain and organize all required documentation.
- Attend start-up and closeout meetings with the Project Engineer and other members of the project team and handle start-up and close-out tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Enrollment in a Four-year college degree in construction management, engineering, or business management program is required. Knowledge of estimating, scheduling, and engineering principals and techniques is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of construction drawings and specifications, materials, means and methods. Strong computer skills and a familiarity with the Microsoft office suite of programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project). Strong English oral & written communication skills and good organizational skills are required.
